One of Australia's most experienced sound recordists, David Lee was recognised with an Academy Award for Best Sound, which he shared with his sound department colleagues, for the film The Matrix (1999).  David has also won four AFI  Awards for Best Achievement in Sound for Bootmen (2000), Metal Skin (1995), Muriel's Wedding (1994) and Romper Stomper (1992).  His numerous other international credits include The Painted Veil, Queen of the Damned  and Nim's Island.
